Obama Czar defends new tail pipe emission standards

First of all let me just say that I love that the Obama administration is using the word "czar".  He promised to have a transparent presidency and he is doing just that.  I grew up during the cold war where words like czar, comrade or even the name Ivan had negative connotations to them because of their association to a certain communist country.  With his usage of the word czar and his promises regarding the "redistribution of wealth" he has been definitely been transparent about what is agenda is.  Socializing our country.

This story is just another step in the governments annihilation of capitalism.  I, a consumer, had already made up my mind that I was going to buy a fuel efficient car when I made my next vehicle purchase.  Yes, I'm an environmentalist and a capitalist (no this is not an oxymoron as most on the left would have you to believe).

Consumers, as they always have, will dictate which direction industry will go in.  After the rise in gas prices last summer, people have realized how valuable fuel efficient cars can be.  The car manufacturers were behind on their production of these types of cars causing most consumers to go on a waiting list.  The car companies know that they were losing money.  Since car companies are in it to make money, they have already ramped up their production of fuel efficient cars. Why do we have to have the government dictate to them what the consumers have already said?

The cost of regulations always will be passed down to the consumer.

The cost of all new cars will now go up to compensate for the money the manufactures have to spend to meet this regulation, which will force some consumers out of the new car market.  Even when the government offers subsidies to the car companies, where do those subsidies come from?  Taxes.  The Obama administration is already playing around with taxing sodas to fund its healthcare plan.

Instead of letting consumer pressure work on the car companies, our government will now step in and force them to work the problem out quickly and pass the cost of the haste to the taxpayer.

And why is our government, which will already have to borrow $0.50 for every dollar it spends this year, offering to pay "cash for clunkers"?  If someone wants to buy a fuel efficient car, have them save up some money and sell their old car on craigslist.  Why does the government have to become a used car lot?

Florida prison officials taser kids

The level of stupidity and incompetence shown by the prison officials and parents is unparalleled.  The youngest kid tasered was five years old!  How could anyone think that this was going to turn out well.  I'm shocked (poor word choice) that there wasn't one adult that put a stop to this.  FIVE YEARS OLD!

Other than the child abuse element, I hate hearing stories like this because it gives the law enforcement and criminal justice workers a bad name.   In general, we only hear about police officers or prison guards when they make mistakes, which is a shame.  Their stress/personal risk to pay ratio is astoundingly low which leads me to believe that they are more unappreciated than even teachers.  However, for every 95 professionals in any industry, there's alway the 5 that give everyone else a bad name.

O'Reilly talks about connection between Obama, GE and MSNBC

I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist, but how many of these connections are intentional?

I used to watch MSNBC to get views from "the other side", but they became so hateful at the end of the Bush administration that it was impossible to watch.  Olberman and Chris "there's a tingle up my leg" Matthews are not representative of the moderate left voice in our country.  They are the fringe.  That is why they repeatedly are beaten in the ratings by Fox.

On another note, I am impressed with how well the President is able to funnel money to his supporters after he's come into power.  It already sickens me to know that a decent portion of my paycheck will go towards GM, which is now owned in large part by the unions that supported Obama in his election.  Can't wait till Accorn and MSNBC start to dip into the Obama pot o' taxpayer gold.

Brave dog rescues his mom

Okay, I know it's not about politics, but I'm a dog lover and couldn't resist posting this.  Once again this video proves why dogs are better than cats. They offer unconditional love and often show more concern and empathy for others than humans do. This reminds me of the video shown on youtube last year of a dog dragging his friend off of a highway in Chile (shown below). It's unbeleivable to me how an animal can fight off it's survival insticts and act in such a self sacrificing manner.

Robert Gibbs plays grab ass with his media buddies

What happened today seemed more like a frat party than a press conferance.  The press loves Obama, hence everything attached to him is wonderful and "enchanting". Professionalism be damned.  Also, who are the jackasses that leave their cell phones on during a press conference?

I can't recall this amount of levity in a press conference during Bush's administration.

Welcome to Polideo!

Polideo is a blog that I've wanted to do for a while, but I've never made it a priority until now.  My blog posts will consist of an interesting political or news video accompanied by my commentary.

Who am I?

I'm a conservative who supports the Republican, Libertarian and Constitutionist parties and their ideals.  I believe in a small government that acts in a socially responsible way and traditional american values.  I believe the voice of the left has been hijacked by Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Al Franken, George Clooney and other close minded individuals who want to dramatically increase the size of government while eroding our core values.  Their beliefs are best summarized by Obama's campaign slogan; "Hope and Change".  It sounds good, but there's no substance behind.  To me "Hope" is just some airy word used to appeal to people who are heavy on idealism and light on practicality.  The word that scares me is "Change".  During the election, people latched onto this word thinking that it meant change from an unpopular former administration or change from past racism.  To the left though, change meant changing our country from a industrious bastion for democracy to a dependant and overtaxed nanny state.

When I comment on videos (which may not all be regarding politics) I want my reader to know where I come from and to take them with a grain of salt.  If proven wrong, I'm not too proud to recant so feel free to comment if you disagree.  Other than that, I hope you enjoy my blog!
